EDITORIAL

The good news is that more and more Americans, as many as 80% in some polls, are becoming increasingly aware that the health care system is broken and that only a major national reform will fix it.  More and more doctors are joining Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP) and advocating for a better, fairer health care system for their patients.  Increasingly, people are becoming angry with politicians who carry the water for the insurance companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers and other corporate entities who profit from this dysfunctional system.

Many people are aghast at the rising costs of health care, much of it due to administrative waste and unconscionable profits of the “market place” profiteers whose lobbyists infest the halls of Congress.  This health care system hurts not only the millions of working poor who lack health insurance, but many middle-class families who are paying for health insurance but are dismayed to find that their coverage is inadequate when illness strikes.

We look forward to the gathering of the “critical mass” of Americans who will shout “No more!”
